Dalton State College

Dalton State’s Student Government Association (SGA) demonstrated what it means to Lead Boldly when the group hosted a fundraiser in support of the Roadrunner Student Emergency Fund. The campaign was a success, resulting in $161 raised in thirty minutes.

Dalton State College’s School of Health Professions will receive more than $370,000 in federal funding for simulation technology upgrades, expansion and enhancements. The project proposal was submitted by Sen. Jon Ossoff.

A recent agreement between Dalton State and Georgia College and State University (GCSU) provides Dalton State graduates more affordable and efficient route to GCSU graduate programs in business.

Blake Callahan, who graduated last May with a BBA in marketing, said the partnership reinforces the quality of the programs Dalton State offers. “It adds value to my experience at Dalton State,” Callahan said.

Students wishing to become a pharmacist can now do so in as little as six years thanks to an agreement that allows students to begin their college education at Dalton State and complete it through the University of Georgia (UGA).

Students can complete an associate degree with a focus in pre-pharmacy at Dalton State and will be given priority application status, receiving a guaranteed interview from UGA’s doctor of pharmacy program, according to the agreement signed by both schools recently.

Dalton State College’s School of Arts and Sciences will now have an endowed Shaw Industries Chair in STEM thanks to ongoing support from Shaw.
