University of Georgia Foundation Fellow Ashni Patel has been selected for the Schwarzman Scholarship, becoming the eighth UGA student to receive this prestigious award.

Miller is a doctoral candidate in the Mary Frances Early College of Education, owner of C. A. Miller Publishing Company and the 2022 graduate student recipient of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award.

Deep in a South Carolina forest, just off the edge of a murky swamp, a 190-pound wild pig has found itself in a bind.

While eyeing what seemed like easy pickings, a pile of dried corn left unattended, the lone boar had rooted himself into a sophisticated net pig trap. He’s sealed in.

Escape proves futile. Over and over, the boar charges, tusk-first, into the flexible but resilient black netting that surrounds him. Each time, he harmlessly bounces off as if it were a sideways trampoline.Eventually, the boar sees a man quietly approaching. He wears a red Georgia Bulldogs baseball cap and carries what appears to be a high-powered rifle. The man, wildlife researcher James Beasley, is followed by more than a dozen others.

Since she was 2 years old, Tiffani Richardson has had her sights set on becoming a medical professional. Whether an obstetrician, a registered nurse or what her younger self called a “baby doctor” (pediatrician), UGA’s Georgia Possible program is giving her the tools and skills to turn her lifelong dream into a career.

Feb. 2, 2021 — B.J. Armstead likes to say that he was born into social work. Inspired by his mother’s counseling and therapy practice, Armstead is now finishing up the Master of Social Work program at the University of Georgia.

Dec. 17, 2020 — From Dec. 7 to Jan. 11, the University of Georgia will administer the Healthy Minds Study, a web-based survey study examining mental health, service utilization and related issues among undergraduate and graduate students.
