For WDKY Fox 56 News, the goal was to relaunch their news programming. Fortunately for the Lexington, Kentucky station, they had the power of the Pack – finely trained journalists who not only had the degrees but also an unwavering sense of purpose.

You never know when inspiration will strike and change your life. For University of West Georgia biology alumna Joanne Wasdin ’19, it came in the form of a disabled gopher tortoise named Thomas.

Leaders from the University of West Georgia and Georgia Highlands College recently signed a partnership agreement to provide a seamless pathway for nursing students between the two institutions.

The Center for Economic Education & Financial Literacy and iGrad have partnered to provide a customized, interactive online and mobile student financial wellness platform to the university’s student population.

“Now more than ever, college students are facing tremendous financial challenges impacting enrollment, retention and the level of student loan debt, which is already the second-largest category of debt in the country,” said iGrad Vice President of Business Development Todd Woodlee.

UWG’s CEEFL aspires to alleviate some of these concerns for students.

The University of West Georgia celebrated its 40th year of A Day to Give West with another milestone number: a record-shattering $1.59 million.

The projects – commissioned by UWG’s School of the Arts (SOTA) with generous support from the Hollis Trust – are prime examples of the university’s strategic plan in progress.

Systems & Methods, Inc. and the University of West Georgia announced today a partnership to establish the Stone Center for Family Business, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation within UWG’s Richards College of Business. The Stone Center, announced as part of SMI’s 50th-anniversary celebration, will serve as a hub for student programming, faculty engagement and community outreach aimed at nurturing innovation in the region.

When the University of West Georgia’s Sarah Grace Rogers arrived at the Slavia Field School in Mortuary Archaeology in Giecz, Poland, this summer, she and her fellow anthropology students would play a game.

By the time she returned to the United States a month later, she could tell the difference.

Nathan Childers knows firsthand the impact scholarships can have on students. And now, thanks to his ingenuity and generosity, art majors at the University of West Georgia will be able to benefit even more from the very scholarship he received as a student.

“Scholarships have been paramount to my success at UWG,” said Childers, who graduated in May with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. “Having others say that they believe in what you are doing so much, that they are willing to help you in the most fundamental way they can, is incredible.”
